The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) operates
the county-owned electric, gas, water & wastewater
systems under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public Utilities.
We are funded by rates paid for the four utilities services provided.

The Solid Waste Division offers three kinds of containers
  • Permanent Dumpster - For trash only
    • Holds 8 cubic yards; dimensions - 8' wide x 8' long x 6' high
    • $19.05 - Rental fee
    • $18.20 per collection - Regularly scheduled collection service (1 pick up p/wk min)
    • $34.61 to Set up, Takedown, & Relocation
    • $37.00 per collection for extra pick-ups
  • Permanent Dumpster - For cardboard only
    • Holds 8 cubic yards; dimensions - 8' wide x 8' long x 6' high
    • $19.05 - Rental fee
    • $14.00 per collection - Regularly scheduled collection service (1 pick up p/wk min)
    • $34.61 to Set up, Takedown, & Relocation
    • $37.00 per collection for extra pick-ups
    • Roll Off Box - For construction, yard & other bulk debris
  • Two sizes (price is the same for both)
    • Holds 20 cubic yards; dimensions - 8' wide x 24' long x 4' high
    • Holds 30 cubic yards; dimensions - 8' wide x 24' long x 6' high
    • $63.00 - Rental fee
    • $84.00 - Set up, Takedown, Relocation
    • $84.00 per collection plus tipping fees
    • Tipping fees for waste inside container
      • $14.75 minimum tipping fee
      • $45.00 tipping fee per ton
Rules for the dumpsters and roll-off containers
  • No placing containers under overhead or low hanging wires or tree obstruction
  • Don't overload containers - there will be additional charges billed
  • Do not discard rubble, rocks, concrete pieces or dirt in a dumpster, these containers are for office and business trash only.
  • You may use a roll-off container for rubble, rocks, concrete pieces or dirt but be sure to only fill roll-off container ½ way.
  • Do not discard hazardous materials in the containers
  • Do not discard ashes in the containers
If you'd like to request a dumpster or roll-off container
  • Download application in PDF form.
  • Mail or bring the following to the Department of Public Utilities:
    1. Completed application (make sure that you have signed the application)
    2. You will need to have a utility account
    3. Charges will appear on you utility bill
    4. Please allow 72 hours for service
